Fishing Report for May 03, 2016
The fish are finally starting to show up. We have had four good days out of 5 in the last week. The bite started Friday afternoon and Saturday, was off Sunday, on Monday and today for 3 hours the fish came through here on the Rogue. We had 12 line bumps, 6 bites landed 5 and released 3. We where able to keep these nice ones at 14lb to 15lb and I’m hoping and praying it will continue. Today was a lot of fun and wish you were here to share it with me. Last week it was looking like a poor run of fish but after today, maybe not!
Fishing Report for March 20, 2016
Brenda was shaking like a leaf by the time we got it in the net. It was a beautiful 27-28 pound fish. Being a wild, we had to release it, but they are here and beautiful. There was 6 or 7 pound Hatchery fish caught yesterday. I hope to have one soon. It’s time to start thinking about booking your Spring trip starting next week. Looking forward to your call!
Well it isn’t a Chinook but it’s a beautiful Steelhead, about nine or ten pounds chrome on chrome bright. Not a bad day so far on the Rogue. They seem to love my bait today. It’s windy and rainy but cozy inside and what a bless day it is!
Fishing Report for February 04, 2016
Fishing on the Rogue is great! Released 1 and kept 1 so far today. A friend hooked 12 times yesterday and landed 7. It’s looking like it will be good for the next 2 weeks and maybe longer, whether permitting.
Fishing Report for August 21, 2015
Pete drove over last night for his annual fish trip. We were blessed and able to take him out by noon. Not bad for an 80 year old gentleman. He FOUGHT those fish like a pro. It is fun to see the joy on the faces, weather they are 80 or 8. That what makes my job so great! Hope to see you soon. Your Guide, John.

Too surely I must have found favor in God’s eyes. He blessed me with a fantastic day and a fantastic group of people. We landed 10 out of 12 bites on the Umpqua today and I still have openings for next week and the following week. You might want to strike while the iron hot. Looking forward to hearing from you. Today I was well blessed here on the Rogue. We had 3 bites and 3 fish. It was a beautiful day on the Southern Oregon Coast, in low 70s, sunny and a lite breeze. It sure beats the heat. We are having a blast and wish you would come join us. Your guide, John.
Umpqua River Report – For August 29, 2014
Even on a slow day no one is skunked on the Umpqua and we missed a couple of bites. September and October has lots of openings. I would love to see you!
Umpqua River Report – For August 27, 2014
Today it was father son memory making day. We hooked up 7 times, landed 6, one was a wild silver and the fish got into some other boat lines. It was big and hot. It took 200 feet off before we could get are lines in. We are having a blast. Wish you were here to in joy it. I have openings, so give me a call.

Fishing Report for August 23, 2014
The Umpqua is loaded with big fish Thur I was 2 out of 10 bites, had 2 leaders brake and in 12 years of guiding I have never had that happen. Today I had my friend call to say he was 2 out 6 with 32lb and 41lb. I had really great people with me Thur but they had never fought big fish like these before and I was running beaded line. I went back to 30lb mono line and am thinking about in line bungee cord . There was close to a 100 fish today according to my friends. Have opening and would love to see your eyes light up with one of these Monsters so give me a call.
