From one of the guys on the boat with me:
Bob and Curt in the picture have recently moved to Oregon from Alaska and have a combined time in Alaska of over 40 years. We both have fished all the great rivers of Alaska for Kings like the Kenai, Anchor, Ninilchik, Naknek, Nushagak. On our recent outing with John we both commented how this Rogue experience was superior to anything we could currently do in Alaska. The limit is two per day on the Rogue and most Alaska rivers are only one with a 5 King annual limit. John is the best guide on the Rogue and the best guide we have ever went with. He works harder to give you a super experience than any guide we know of. He even cooked us breakfast on the river when we were not pulling in fish. On Wednesday morning, John had anchored up at 0400 am in a key fishing spot and we joined him at 0600. By 1030 am we had 5 Kings in the boat, 4 Adults and a Jack King. I have not only fished all over the US but Germany, Austria etc. plus a lot in Alaska. We both agree that John gives us the best experience we know of anywhere in the world. He is just the Best.”

Today was an awesome day! We had twelve bites, brought eight to the boat, and landed seven of them. Fishing doesn’t get much better than this. The rest of August’s calendar is pretty full, but most of September still has a lot of openings (although we’re filling up near the end). Here’s a 29 pounder from Thursday – a happy fisherman! I have been getting one to two per day in the bay.
